About Sequoia Behavioral Health
Sequoia Behavioral Health is a treatment program that provides personalized and compassion-driven care for those struggling with mental health issues or addiction. With multiple treatment centers and an expert team, Sequoia offers numerous specialized services, such as trauma therapy, neurofeedback, EMDR, and somatic experiencing.

All web design, development, and copywriting services for Sequoia Behavioral Health were provided by Eightfold Technology. I was responsible for creating the visual identity and other branded materials for print and digital use.

The Objective
The founders of Sequoia Behavioral Health were preparing to open their first inpatient facility and start accepting clients. In order to launch their business effectively, they needed a logo and visual identity that would work well on their website, signage, marketing materials, and more. Conveying their emphasis on authenticity, compassion, personal growth, and tranquility through the visual identity was also important.
Logo Design
During the logo design process, I explored various concepts that utilized nature-based imagery and organic shapes to represent growth and tranquility. The final logomark is a simplified sequoia leaf framed in an elongated hexagon shape that gives the design a unique and memorable look. For the wordmark, a medium-contrast sans-serif typeface, Minerva Modern, was chosen because of its balance of elegance and friendliness.
Visual Identity
A brand’s visual messaging can’t be limited to just a logo; it needs to extend into a full identity system that accurately portrays the personality and passions of the company. Guided by industry research and discussions with the team at Sequoia, I developed a cohesive visual style of colors, typography, iconography, and other graphic elements to be used on their website and marketing materials.
